My Story

My name is Sydnee, and I’m a therapist who is passionate about supporting children, teens, and young adults as they navigate life’s challenges and work toward meaningful goals. I was drawn to this field through my growing interest in understanding people, relationships, and how emotional well-being impacts everyday life.

I earned my Bachelor’s degree in Psychology with a minor in Sociology, followed by a Master of Education in Professional Counseling with a concentration in Clinical Mental Health Counseling, all from the University of West Georgia. Since beginning my career in 2022 at a community mental health clinic, I’ve had the opportunity to work closely with individuals and families facing a wide range of emotional and mental health concerns.

I believe therapy should feel supportive, collaborative, and empowering. I strive to create a space where clients feel safe, heard, and reminded that they are not alone in their journey. Taking the step to seek support is courageous, and I’m honored to walk alongside clients as they grow and heal.

My Area of Expertise

I have experience supporting children, adolescents, and young adults with anxiety, depression, emotional regulation challenges, self-harm, and suicidal ideation. My background includes individual, group, and family counseling, as well as parent education and support, which allows me to approach care with a broad and thoughtful perspective.

My work is grounded in a client-centered approach that integrates Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Solution-Focused Therapy, and Motivational Interviewing. I focus on helping clients reframe negative thought patterns, strengthen communication skills, and build practical coping strategies they can use in daily life. I’m especially skilled at creating a supportive environment where clients feel empowered to work through challenges and move toward both short- and long-term goals.

Throughout my career I have worked with individuals and families of all ages and demographics. I am committed to involving the family in the therapeutic process in my work with children and adolescents and am passionate about creating a secure and fun environment for all to heal and grow.
