My Story

Hi I’m Jasmine and I’m an Associate licensed Marriage and Family Therapist. My path to becoming a therapist didn’t start where you might think. I actually began college as a nursing major because I wanted to rock babies in the NICU. Then I got my first C in Human Anatomy, and it shattered my belief in myself. On top of that, someone told me I’d have to work with adults before I could ever get to the NICU, and I was like, nahhh, okay.

So I sat down with myself and asked, what skills do you have, girl? Two things kept coming back to me. First, I was always the “mom” of the friend group. People came to me for advice, and they never told me I had horrible ideas. Second, and deeper than that, I didn’t grow up with a lot of safe adults, and I always wanted to be that safe space for other people. So I gathered my research, pitched it to my mom (that’s a whole other story), and changed my major to psychology.

And here we are today. I became a therapist to be the change I wanted to see in the world, and I still love helping people feel less alone and like their problems aren’t quite as big as they seem.

My Area of Expertise

If there’s one thing I’m known for, it’s making people feel seen and heard. That’s the most consistent feedback I’ve gotten over the years, both in and out of this field. I truly believe that once you feel like you’re not alone, whatever is going on in your head becomes a lot easier to tackle.

I love working with individuals, couples, and families who are struggling to really lean into their own path: their wants, their goals, and their desires. In my experience, that’s often when depression, anxiety, and self-esteem issues start to pop up. I especially enjoy working with ADHD, relationship struggles, and men’s issues, including young men working through what masculinity means to them. I also love supporting teens and young adults navigating identity, adults working through trauma or family complexity, people exploring their spirituality, and kids and tweens who struggle with anxiety, depression, or making social connections.

Something doesn’t have to be “wrong” for you to start therapy. I’m passionate about helping my clients embrace every part of who they are so they can live authentically and with greater confidence, and I’ll make sure you feel seen, supported, and never alone in the process.

How I Approach Therapy

What's My Vibe

My approach is client-centered and holistic. When I was getting my master’s degree, I took the idea of “use of self” pretty literally. I help you feel comfortable and safe by being real, genuine, and authentic myself. Your therapist isn’t perfect. I’ve gone through my own personal struggles and come out on the other side, and most of my clients tell me how much they appreciate that small bit of self-disclosure because it reminds them they aren’t the only ones who’ve been through it.

I also know that whatever brings you to therapy is often just one part of a larger story. I take a holistic approach, exploring the different areas of your life and honoring the connection between mind, body, and spirit. Whether we’re working on anxiety, depression, life transitions, relationships, ADHD, self-esteem, or building healthy coping skills, I pull from approaches like CBT, DBT, IFS, and play and sandtray work depending on what fits you. I’ve seen real, lasting change happen when every part of a person is acknowledged and supported.

Honestly, my style is a mix of whatever you come in needing. I make it a point when we first meet to let you know I can adjust and tailor sessions to you, but in general, I’m a mix of direct, warm, and reflective. I believe in a balance of client-centered and therapist-led work. I’ll encourage you to find some of the answers you’re looking for within yourself and the changes you can make, and then I’ll bring in research-backed tools to see what helps. And yes, there’s room for humor here too. I believe compassion, curiosity, and a good laugh can all be part of healing.
