My Story

Hi, I’m Armyll. I’m a master’s level therapist starting my clinical journey here at The Comfy Place.

My start with therapy began at a young age. I noticed that friends, family, and even strangers felt comfortable talking to me about their lives, and I cherished being a safe space and a listening ear for them. Everyone said I have a calming and non-judgmental presence, and that definitely carries into the therapy room. That led me to study Psychology and African American Studies at the University of Alabama, and then Marriage and Family Therapy at Mercer University. I’m here to make sure you feel safe and heard, and so no one feels like they’re alone.

I’m also an Army brat, and I’ve moved around since I was born. My favorite places to live were South Korea and Hawaii, where I got to learn so much about different cultures and connect with the local people. Fun fact: I can even read and write in Korean!

I’m in the beginning stages of my therapy career, and I’m so excited to work with you!

My Area of Expertise

During my practicum, I had the opportunity to work with a diverse group of clients dealing with grief and loss, anxiety, depression, addiction, communication issues, self-esteem, family changes, divorce, and even breakups.

The work I’m most excited about is helping people with anxiety, family conflict, and self-esteem. I also love working with teens navigating identity, children adjusting to big changes that show up as behavioral concerns, and couples and families who want to communicate better. My training in marriage and family therapy helps me look at the relationships around you, not just one piece of the story. And as someone who grew up in a military family, I know what it’s like to move, adjust, and start over again.

If you are looking for a therapist who is warm, easy to talk to, and comfortable sitting with both the hard moments and the light ones, that is the energy I bring into the room!

How I Approach Therapy

What's My Vibe

As a therapist, I’m warm, and my job is to make you feel comfortable. Clients feel comfortable with me because I’m consistent. I show up the same way every session. I’m not performing a role. I’m being myself inside a professional frame, and that helps you feel safe enough to be honest with me.

I’m also playful and use lots of humor. Humor doesn’t mean I avoid the hard stuff. It means you’ll know early on that this space can hold both the heavy moments and the light ones.

My style is calm, warm, and playful, with structure underneath it. Sessions with me won’t feel stiff or clinical. They’ll feel like real conversations. I’m laid-back in how I show up, but I’m not aimless. I bring structure to the work even when the tone is relaxed.

You won’t feel like you’re being interviewed or diagnosed. You’ll feel like you’re talking to someone who is actually present with you. I’m collaborative, too. My job is to bring tools, perspective, and care, not to hand you a script. We’ll figure things out together!
