LaMuntra Richardson
Clinical Student Intern
She/Her
Hi, I’m LaMuntra. I am a budding clinical intern who is dedicated to serving adolescents and adults in Georgia. I am currently interning under the supervision of Lisa Ibekwe, LCSW, as I work towards gaining my Master’s in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Walden University. I provide individual, family, and couples counseling along with running groups on various topics. I understand that life may throw us challenges that leave us feeling bad, but my goal is to help you discover the life you want to live and help you live it more abundantly.
I have a Bachelors degree in Psychology from Walden University. Since obtaining my Bachelors I have spent time working at Wellstar Health Systems as a Contract Coordinator. I am also a Court Appointed Special Advocate (CASA) for Douglas County, Georgia. I am passionate about seeing healthy children and families and working through a multidisciplinary approach to keep children safe. I am trained in the Darkness to Light approach which seeks to empower adults, promote awareness, and provide education to prevent, recognize, and react to child sexual abuse. What I have learned from working in these spaces is that trauma is prevalent in many peoples stories. People often don’t understand how deeply their life experiences can impact them. My dream as a budding therapist is to be able to help children, teens, and adults heal from their trauma and resolve any outstanding pieces that may be interfering with their growth and progression. Trauma affects us all, but understanding how to move through is the epitome of healthy living.
I am dedicated to collaborating with and helping individuals experiencing trauma, abuse, depression, anxiety, family conflicts, relationship issues, and who may be going through a life transition. I additionally enjoy working alongside parents to address behavioral issues in their children. I want to ensure that people have fun and heal as they address the real world problems that we all face. Everyone has a better version of themselves, sometimes we just need a little help finding that version.
