Hi, I’m Keana! I am very excited for the opportunity to work with you and your child and assist you all in meeting your goals. I am very passionate about working with children, teens, and families and helping them navigate their mental health journey. I am working under the supervision of Lisa Ibekwe, LCSW, as I work towards graduating and becoming a fully Licensed Clinical Social Worker in Georgia.Â
As a child and adolescent therapist in training, I greatly enjoy working with children from all walks of life. I have worked in a behavioral health centers with children with Autism and most recently was an applied behavioral analyst. I graduated from Kennesaw State University with a Bachelor’s degree in Psychology and most recently am working on my Master’s degree in Social Work at Capella University. My experience working in these areas has assisted me in learning many different skills and tools to help children and teens work through their mental health struggles.Â
I have experience working with a variety of issues including depression, anxiety, trauma, Posttraumatic stress disorder (PTSD), family conflicts and challenges, and other mental health issues. My passion is working with those who have experienced trauma. I am trained in and work from a trauma-focused lens. I additionally have a background in child abuse, domestic violence, and other traumas children and teens may experience.Â
I utilize many different approaches in therapy and work to find what fits best for my clients. I use modalities such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Person-Centered Therapy, and various Behavioral therapy techniques. As a therapist intern, I work to guide and assist you and your child by creating a safe, fun, and judgment-free space for your child and your family as we walk together through your mental health journey.Â
