She/Her
Hi I’m Mallory. I am so excited to see you taking this first step on your healing journey. As a passionate therapist I focus on empowering, educating, and advocating for others. My heart lies in the work I do assisting children, adolescents, and families through their journey of healing. I am working under the supervision of Lisa Ibekwe, LCSW, as I work towards becoming a fully Licensed Clinical Social Worker.Â
I have been in the helping field for a number of years previously working in the Department of Family and Children’s Services (DFCS) and now currently as a School Social Worker for Carroll County Schools. I graduated from Albany State University with a Bachelors of Social Work and then went on to pursue my Masters of Social Work in the Advanced Standing Program from Jacksonville State University. I am currently pursuing my Doctorate in Social Work at Capella University. My experiences have equipped me with tools to help children defeat negative thoughts, take control of their emotions, and improve their communication with others.Â
My expertise includes working with children and families who have experienced anxiety, depression, trauma, cultural issues, family issues, and other mental and behavioral health issues. In addition to my clinical experience, I have worked with children in foster care assisting foster youth and foster families with case management and delivering trauma informed care. I specialize in issues pertaining to foster youth, victims of sex trafficking, trauma and working with people who may have self-esteem issues, adjustment/behavioral concerns, and more. I additionally work with the LGBTQ population and enjoying empowering LGBTQ youth to find their voice.Â
I enjoy working with children and adolescents from all walks of life. I believe that change happens when people are given the support they need to draw on their own strengths and realize their potential to live fulfilling happy lives. I approach therapy as a healing process that includes helping people answer deep-seated questions that individuals have about themselves or their children. As a passionate social worker, I aim to provide an environment full of compassion and support. My goal is to help individuals overcome obstacles and move towards a life where they can thrive. Â
I utilize an eclectic approach to therapy that encompasses various modalities like Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Play Therapy, Solution Focused Therapy, Person-Centered Therapy, and various Behavior Therapy techniques. As a caring and compassionate therapist, I am here to help guide you through the process. I support my clients by creating a fun, relaxed, safe, and judgment-free environment for everyone to heal.
