Mental Health Counselor and Adolescent & Adult Therapist

Hi, I’m Latisha. I am an eager, passionate, and caring therapist who is dedicated to serving adolescents and adults. I am a Mental Health Counselor working under the supervision of Lisa Ibekwe, LCSW, as I work towards becoming a fully Licensed Professional Counselor

I am a recent graduate of Long Island University in New York where I got my Masters in Mental Health Counseling. While in school, I worked closely with adults with substance use issues and addictions. I additionally gained experience working with adolescents and adults with various mental health concerns. This experience helped me enhance my skills and now I currently specialize in working with people with trauma, depression, anxiety, and addiction. I am also passionate about working with individuals that come from a multicultural background who may be having difficulties adjusting to life stressors. As a child of immigrants, I too understand the struggle of adjusting to life in a new place, so I aim to work collaboratively with people to achieve a healthier lifestyle.

In the therapy room I incorporate a humanistic approach in how I build relationships with other. I additionally incorporate other modalities like Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Person-Centered Therapy into the therapeutic work I do. I am a firm believer that working with people relies on building trust, sharing encouragement and providing a non-judgmental space where you can feel safe and seen. Our journey will include you learning how to love and advocate for yourself; you finding your voice and seeing you for who you really are. If you feel like you are ready for a fresh start then contact me today!
