Hi, I’m Kaitlyn! I am very excited for the opportunity to work with you and assist you in meeting your goals. I am very passionate about working with children, teens, and families and helping them navigate their mental health journey. I am working under the supervision of Lisa Ibekwe, LCSW, as I work towards becoming a fully Licensed Professional Counselor.
As a child and adolescent therapist, I greatly enjoy working with children from all walks of life. I have worked in a child advocacy center and most recently was a school-based child and adolescent therapist in South Carolina. I graduated from Georgia College in 2019 with a Bachelor’s degree in Psychology and most recently graduated from Augusta University with a Master’s degree in Clinical Psychology. My experience working in these areas has assisted me in learning many different skills and tools to help children and teens work through their mental health struggles.
I have experience working with a variety of issues including depression, anxiety, trauma, Posttraumatic stress disorder (PTSD), family conflicts and challenges, and other mental health issues. My passion is working with those who have experienced trauma. I am trained in and work from a trauma-focused lens. I additionally have a background in child abuse, domestic violence, and other traumas children and teens may experience.
I utilize many different approaches in therapy and work to find what fits best for my clients. I am a Certified Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapist (TF-CBT) in which I use this approach to help children and teens who have experienced trauma. I also use modalities such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Person-Centered Therapy, and various Behavioral therapy techniques. As a therapist, I work to guide and assist you and your child by creating a safe, fun, and judgment-free space for your child and your family as we walk together through your mental health journey.

- Currently pursuing additional training in Trauma
- Certified Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapist (TF-CBT)
